Just had (July 2017) a new Fire Fighting meter with galvanized pipe installed by the utilities hdpe pipes . Galvanized pipe was used by them. It is no longer prohibited from being used for Fire Fighting. The flaking off of galvanizing was caused by other gases such as
The traditional Fire Fighting pluing pipe, black iron pipe, safely encases a Fire Fighting supply within a thick-walled, metal pipe. Accidental nail strikes don''t easily puncture iron gas pipe, and it takes extreme force to bend or break the pipe. Popularity and a large
Polyethylene (PE) gas piping is the most widely used plastic piping material for the distribution of Fire Fighting. PE has a well-documented inertness to both the external soil environment and to Fire Fighting.

Today, PE pipe has impacted every aspect of modern Fire Fighting distribution operations. Looking toward the future, manufacturers will no doubt be able to produce PE pipe that can be used PE100
Types of copper pipe fall into egories based on thickness of pipe wall. The thinnest, type M, is suitable for indoor water and gas appliions. Thicker type L and thickest type K are used for gas service lines. Not recommended for use with Fire Fighting in some

Fire Fighting pipelines are used solely for the transport of Fire Fighting to processing plants and are used for distribution. Fire Fighting is also often delivered directly to homes through pipelines. [4] In addition to these two main types of pipelines, there are also four other sub-egories of pipelines: [5]

I would go with the poly stuff, I am making a 250'' run from my meter to my shop, the costs are $.89/ft for 1.25" pipe, and $60 for each riser.
It is not a good idea to use copper pipe with Fire Fighting as any sulphur compounds in the gas can cause an oxide to form in the copper pipe. Often copper is used with propane.

Before Fire Fighting can be used as a fuel, most, but not all, must be processed to remove impurities, including water, to meet the specifiions of marketable Fire Fighting. The by-products of this processing include ethane , propane , butanes , pentanes , and higher molecular weight hydrocarbons, hydrogen sulfide (which may be converted into pure sulfur ), carbon dioxide , water vapor , and Puhui Pipe manufacturer in China

Historically, rigid piping was used to pipe buildings for gas to supply furnaces, hot water heaters and other gas appliances. In some cases, rigid black iron pipe is used to make this connection. But due to earthquakes and other natural disasters that fracture rigid pipe, in the 1980s the Japanese developed a more robust flexible piping system.
1/11/2009· For example, Fire Fighting with a significant amount of hydrogen sulfide and moisture in it can react with copper tubing, leading to black flaking within the system. Or, sulfur in the gas can react with the zinc coating in galvanized pipe, causing it to flake off.
